Sub Instructions – Students Read Chap. 23

January 28, 2009 · Leave a Comment

…And have the students answer the usual questions. Then they can turn the answers in the usual way using the COMMENT SECTION of THIS POST.

Then, each student must write a 200-words-or-more essay on “How Purchasing Will Be an Important Factor in My New Business.” Students can turn these essays in when I come back, but they must be ready when I return on Friday.

Note to new students: You must choose a new business you will start up as an entrepreneur. Ask the old students what this means if you don’t understand. Write the above essay based on your new business.

Thanks.

Print Ad Assignment

January 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

After reviewing the slide show at Slide Share to study techniques of print ad design, make your own print ad advertising your company (or any company just for practice if you haven’t decided what your start-up is going to be). Here’s what you should do:

  1. Use MS Paint or MS Word. Word is an okay layout program, and you can use MS Paint for prep work, similar to how you would use Photoshop.
  2. Set the size of your ad at a 1/4 page, or 4 1/4 inches by 5 1/2 inches. You can set the size in Page Setup.
  3. Remember to use the design concepts you studied. Also remember to include information important to customers gaining access to your product, such as address, phone #, and website.
  4. Do you ad with pride, just like you would run your business with pride.
  5. Have fun.

Finish by the end of Wednesday class.

Work for January 6th — with a substitute in charge

January 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Sorry I’m missing the first day of school. Be nice to the sub and do the following while I’m gone:

  1. Read all of Chapter 20.
  2. Think long and hard about what kind of business you would start if you were an entrepreneur. Then, after you’ve thought about it, describe the business, where it will be, and why you chose it. Put this in a Word document and save it. After that, copy it and paste it in the comments to this post.

Thanks, and I’ll see you soon. –Mr. Ross
