Pricing PowerPoint Presentation

March 28, 2006 · Leave a Comment

Since the role of pricing in marketing is so important we should do a special PowerPoint presentation to reinforce our understanding pricing. It should include enough slides and enough of a separate script to explain fully the following concepts:

  • The nature and scope of price planning
  • Factors affecting pricing decisions
  • The legal considerations of pricing
  • Pricing concepts and policies for products in various stages of the life cycle
  • The correct and effective use of pricing terminology and techniques
  • The use of pricing math to calculate markups and markdowns
  • Planning and implementing a pricing strategy

You do not need a bibliography page if you do not use more than the book to create your presentation. If you use more sources for the report, you must cite all sources, including the textbook. Of course, you will receive a higher grade for the effort.

Use Easybib to build a quick and easy bibliography or citations page.

Remember: Effective use of graphics is a plus in any presentation, and using keywords and main topics with bullets is very effective when combined with an interesting script or narrative.

A New Era of Self-Responsibility

March 7, 2006 · Leave a Comment

In keeping with the jobs training character of this course, I’ve chosen a new accountability path for the middle third of the 2nd semester:

  1. Everybody starts with an A+ (averaged with the grades of the 1st and 3rd thirds), which = 4.5
    • Tardies and unexcused absences = .5 grade deduction
    • Failing to do requested work each day = .5 grade reduction
    • Violation of the dress code = .5 grade reduction
    • Behavior infraction = .5 grade reduction
    • Everybody seated for dismissal (bell does not dismiss class, teacher does)
  2. To improve grade, 1-hour home assignment, well done, can bring grade up .5.
  3. Remember: In the classroom we respect ourselves and each other and take responsibility for our actions.
  4. Our goal is to learn Marketing and Promotion skills and on-the-job performance skills (on-time, effective, responsible, motivated, productive workers).
